KONE receives industry’s first LOTUS Green Product Certification from Vietnam Green Building Council

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam– KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has become the first company in its field—and the first Finnish company—to secure LOTUS Green Product Certification from the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) for its entire range of elevators and escalators. This landmark achievement positions KONE as a trailblazer in sustainable vertical transportation, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Vietnam's green building movement and the country's sustainable city aspirations.

The LOTUS certification highlights KONE’s long-standing dedication to environmental stewardship in product design, manufacturing, and innovation, with thirteen elevator [i] and five escalator [ii] products certified. This accreditation is a significant acknowledgment from the VGBC, which developed LOTUS as a comprehensive green building rating system tailored to Vietnam’s unique conditions. LOTUS certification rigorously evaluates environmental performance through multiple factors, including energy and water use, waste management, and indoor environmental quality, offering a holistic benchmark for sustainable building practices.
