The Service Robot API solution utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technology to connect robots to KONE's elevator control system, enabling them to call elevators and move autonomously within buildings. Real-time data on the position, direction, and status of elevators facilitates easier robot navigation. This technology can be applied in hospitals, medical facilities, hotels, and airports, with various types of robots such as cleaning robots, delivery robots, and ushering & greeting robots.
KONE's Service Robot API is currently being pioneered at Phenikaa University Hospital (Hanoi). The project is equipped with KONE MiniSpace™ DX class elevators integrated with cloud connectivity. Through KONE's API service, delivery robots can transport medicines and medical supplies to different floors in the hospital via the elevator system 24/7, freeing human labor to focus on more urgent tasks.
API, short for Application Programming Interface, allows easy, quick, and cost-effective interaction between digital systems. KONE provides API on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform as part of its digital services, enabling access to KONE devices and data. Alongside other digital solutions like KONE 24/7 Connected Services, KONE Online, and KONE Mobile, KONE's API service is certified to ISO 27001:2022 standards for information security management, ensuring customers' data security and cybersecurity.
